Technical Due Diligence
Technical due diligence is mainly for assessing whether a system is reliable, resilient, scalable and it will pass independent testing and certification. This is being done increasingly in Internet gaming as the industry continues its consolidation. The buyers will require independent technical assessment of the vendor’s systems. They will be interested to know whether the systems they are buying are reliable and scalable to meet future growth targets. They will also be interested to know whether the vendor’s systems will pass independent testing and certification without further major investment.
The principal consultants of iTech Labs have been involved in Internet Gaming from the inception of regulated Internet gaming. Our activities included internet gaming technical standards, evaluation/certification of a large number of internet gaming systems and technical due diligence of Internet gaming systems worldwide. We have also conducted audits and preparation/review of procedures for internet gaming systems.
Technical due diligence helps to assess the following:
- The gaming system is reliable and resilient
- The system is scalable to meet future growth requirements
- The system meets security requirements
- The system keeps adequate level of game history and audit logs
- There are required interfaces for backend operations
- There is effective collusion and fraud prevention mechanisms in multi-player systems
- System reports are adequate
- The system has adequate player protection mechanisms
- RNG is correctly implemented
- The game rules and artwork does not require major revision
- The operator has proper internal control manuals
- Critical modules of the gaming system are monitored for unauthorized changes
- A big investment is not needed for the system to pass independent testing and certification
As technical due diligence is done at a very high level, this is not a replacement for independent testing and certification as this is done very much in detail.
